No, this has been brought up before. I think the general consensus is that demo charge can't really hurt a huge mass of welded metal, let alone several. Historically the hedgehogs had to be roped or chained to a heavy vehicle and pulled out the way.

These are all valid points and have been brought up many times in this forum. The developers, I'm sure, are quite aware of all these issues.

    With regards to #4:
Splitting the squads will help lessen the line effect and you can spread each group out to your hearts content. Still, I agree that it's not an ideal solution but it helps mitigate the problem

    with regards to #7:
For on field mortars, once they have already bracketed with their spotting rounds, you can then use the fire briefly command to place a few rounds in one spot. Then on the next turn use the same command on another spot along the hedge. This can simulate the process of raking a hedge or trench line. Not ideal but it's the next best thing. I would like on board mortars to be able to "call in" their own fire missions in direct fire cases. This would allow us to use the "line" option. This can be done with a spotting unit but it takes a ridiculous amount of time to execute even if the spotting unit is in the next AS as the mortar.

I hope this is one of the things changed for Battle of Bulge. Rivers and streams in the Ardenness change elevation rapidly. It just wouldn't look right if a stream were all the same height.

Wasn't southern France where Audie Murphy stood on a knocked out US tank and manned a .50  against overwhelming odds?

Yea, the AI force choices are utter crap. This has been one of the biggest disappointments to me in the CMx2 engine. The initial pre-made maps for quick battles was also utter garbage. They've been improved but I've been so put off by the quick battle experience in CMBN I haven't looked at it since the year that it came out. CMBO quick battles were fun at least, although the tactical AI was predictable. This is one area of the game that has regressed IMO.

Every person in this thread has been a critic of CM at some point or another, including myself. By being critics we are all trying to suggest improvements to the game. However, every now and again a newcomer comes along and thinks they know better than others, including the BF development team, and they aggressively incite or antagonize others on the forum with their attitude and demeanor. Then they claim to be the ones being attacked, when in fact they have started the flames. This seems to be exactly what you're doing.

If you're truly trying to improve the game then we welcome you. It's simple to use friendly language and get your points across without sounding like your way is the only way it should be done and without insulting anyone. Also, I suggest you actually take the time to compose and proofread your posts. It's hard to take anyone seriously that has so many grammatical and spelling errors. Normally I don't dwell on such issues because I know there are a lot of people that don't have English as a primary language, but if you're really trying to impress or make a serious point to others, especially the developers, then take the extra 10 seconds to proof read your posts. Quite honestly, it's embarrassing reading your post above, especially knowing that spell check is build into the forums.

Read the manual. For some reason a lot of new players don't even bother with the manual but it will answer 90% of your questions. Well, maybe 80%.

Pak40 got a reaction from Rinaldi in No luck with mortars against AT-guns...?
Actually, I think what is really happening is that when the mortar is fired, CM checks your serial number to get your username. If username = Bulletpoint then Pak=indestructible. That or it's just incredible bad luck.

Pak40 got a reaction from Andreas in CMBN issue on Apple Mac Store still not resolved after all these years?
It seems like a simple solution to this whole mess is to give a new valid "non-Mac Store" serial number to all owners of the Mac Store version. A simple proof of purchase would be required but that should be possible through the Mac Store or with an old email showing the purchase. It would be good PR for Battlefront plus the obvious possibility of selling more CMBN modules and the vehicle pack.

Have you contacted BF through a support ticket?

While I do appreciate the humor of your satire, I never said I thought the game needed to be 100% realistic micromanage nightmare. I'm just saying that it's not needed and actually makes the game more unrealistic than if they didn't have it.

A couple of counter points to what you said above:

I've never viewed Combat Mission to as a game where the players assume the role of the highest HQ unit. Players instead assume the role of every HQ and squad/team leader on the board. Each individual unit in real life had the ability to make decisions on their own without the need of their HQ unit to micromanage every minute detail. Combat Mission simulates this by allowing you to control every unit and see what they see.
