  1. apparently .... I don't think the lyrics scan properly in Russian -
  2. Fighter Command by SSI? I used to play it a lot mailing 5.25" discs around het country to PBM opponents! Great game - simple and addictive at the time! There are a number of newer games that include BoB campaigns such as Battle of Britain by Matrix - which allows you to fly individual aircraft in a relatively simple flight sim when your strategic campaign generates a dogfight. And there was a game by SSG....um....Europe Ablaze that I think had a BoB scenario too - but that was literally decades ago now.....
  3. I didn't ask a question - I answered one, and since there was only 1 question asked there can be nothing ambiguous about the response.
  4. Military headgear often reflects something about civilian headgear of the time - Shakos are militarized top hats, tricornes were also civilian wear and became bicornes, the lemon squeezer and Aussie "slouch hat" were common headgear in the dominions - the lemon squeezer was also found to have a useful characteristic that it did not gather water in the rain!
  5. 2000 toxic chemicals in tap water!! Better to just drink beer!
  6. Did you go visit the 12" guns in the Maxim Gorky battery just north of Sevastopol?? Originally it had 4 guns in twin turrets, but it was rebuilt after WW2 with 2 turrets from the dreadnought Frunze (originally Poltava) and supposedly they remain in working condition - although supposedly last fired in 1958 - but they are still real WW1 dreadnought equipment You can see them in google maps & they're on my bucket list!! Edit: Dammit how do you attach an image here - does it still only take a URL??
  7. From which one can conclude that it is not guns that kill people, it is Americans with guns that kill people.
  8. Godwin's law - you lose. and also wrong in fact, because in 1938 the German government relaxed the gun laws (as long as you weren't a Jew of course!)
  9. Here's an interesting concept for a traumatic pistol
  10. Syrian was only stable in the sense of having a ruthless dictator in charge who thought nothing about killing thousands, guilty or revolt or not, while sitting on the common powder keg of privilege and power of a religious or ethnic minority over the majority.
  11. did you mean to post that to someone who cares??
  12. Could somebody please put the peng thread back in its cage!!
  13. If by "several" you mean 1, and if by "not tanks" you mean "not armored fighting vehicles that resemble the concept of tanks as made reality during WW1" then maybe.....
  14. Try these At least 1 is pure fantasy, but most of the 20th century ones existed to some extent or other
  15. November 1999....but ran another acct for a short while - this one has .38 posts per day - a little over 1 per 3 days - probably mostly before 2006 or so.
  16. did y'all know that they actually planned to deploy this weapon for operation Sealion?? Yep - 2 full years before Zitadelle -not even JK knew that!! Here's the proof - the only known pictures of the Speiseeiskampfscwimmwagen 666 Ausf W....note how the channel Crossing attachment on the roof partially retracts to reduce the chance of hitting a seagull....and also the cunning disguise of English on het sides - which is how we know it was intended for Sealion!!
  17. John your article does not actually quote any of the primae facie evidence you say you have. NONE OF IT! You don't even link to any of it. Instead all your links are to summaries of books that make claims. for someone who claims to have a "wealth of material" you do not even manage to "point(s) the reader to a considerable body of supporting research done by others" at all. JonS is perfectly correct to doubt you.
  18. The Nazis did not use fluoride in concentration camps - but it is a great illustration of godwins law in action - which means JK loses!! There is actually no credible evidence that fluoride was used in any concentration camps at all. The sole source of the story was Charles Perkins - so Who was Charles Perkins and where did he get his info? There is a claim he was sent by the US Govt to take charge of I.G. Faben after WW2 - but Perkins himself makes no actual mention of any connection with I. G. Faben in his book - an odd omission since it would be quite an important association to establish his credentials, and neither he nor fluoride rate any mention in "The Crime and Punishment of IG Farben". Also I.G. Farbin had it's own war trial - the records are available online & I see no mention of Perkins or Fluoride in them - but they are very long - it's entirely possible I missed it so please feel free to point them out if you find any. his failure to provide any documented link is analysed here. Others have looked for evidence to support the claim - eg this forum discussion from 2009, and this one - AFAIK no-one has actually found any.
