  2. Basic Traning mode. Not that hard really.
  3. When you play against the german AI, Barkmans panther will always be in that corner. It is just how the designer made it. I am not sure if this was an oversight as he is harmless in that corner.
  4. Ken, When you move your scouts across a field do you prefer to use "hunt" or "quick"? I am experimenting with both right now and wanted to hear your take on both. Hunt is great but it takes a long time.
  5. I love this sound mod! The only critque I have is that the grenade sounds are very weak. Any chance you could give them more BOOM in a redux? ...I did notice that the explosions are labels A-1, A-2, A-3, B-1, B-2, ect. Do we choose the one we want for A, B, C ect. or will the game use a random choice each time?

  7. We have a command that targets for 30 seconds already. Pause 30 with a fire order then quick to the same action spot and a face command off the new waypoint. Simple.
  8. Also I believe there are "mixed" minefields so beware of the above rules! Life....chocolates...what your going to get....
  9. What skill level are you playing? Also...in the first beach battle you ran Bright and his team through a "Suspected Minefield". Edit...more feedback. I am guessing in "Echoville" you used the move command for the sake of film making as it has no real use in the game. You should never really use it. Quick or hunt is a much better choice. Otherwise very entertaining videos.
  10. Agreed! ...and iron doesnt just show you friendly spotting it also enforces a more strict, more realistic C2 system. It is a bigger leap than you might think going from elite to iron.
  11. No I don't think that is directly true. Only the units facing will determine spotting chances. The arc helps because you are controlling the units facing. A unit will spot the same with or without an arc if it is facing the same direction. Steve asked Charles awhile ago and that was his response.
  12. I guess you could have smoked the villa and slow crawled your guys into the buildings. This may have prevented the courtyard crew from seeing you first and shooting. or....after sending in scouts (<-----see...not whole squads) you could catch a glimps of the courtyard crew and then call in arty on the whole villa knowing that some rounds will fall into the center.

  14. John, Have you tried to use the wide open fields on your left with the bocage wall in the center to get in some flanking shots?
  15. Old thread I know but I have a question about this mission. Should I exit my forces no matter how well I am keeping the Germans at bay or should I keep my forces on the map until time runs out? I am confussed about what is more important.
  16. By the way PT. I am now on the 3rd battle and I wanted to tip my hat to you. Great maps WITH MULTIPLE AI PLANS makes this a hardcore epic win for CM players. You have me grabbing my 1942 M1 garand (CMP) in one hand and my beer in the other and you have me screaming at the monitor while I try to outfox your masterpiece. Very well done and very replayable!
  17. Welcome back John. A little factoid on that battle. The map is not correct. The actual battle (if it ever really happened (whole other thread)) occured 1 to 2 km west (I can't reemember exactly) of the place the map in game represents. I first learned of Barkman when I was invited to Elvis house for a CMBN pre-release demo. I had never heard of Barkman before that. Strange. Anyway, I became very interested in him (until I learned the truth......maybe) and researched his interviews and found one where he shows a friend the exact road turnoff and area he was at. I located the same area and found out it was significantly west of our battle map (which is also a real place....kind of). Anyway.....enjoy the slaughter...just dont play a real human on that map or you willl get schooled.
  18. I had the BOF and MG's on the right to directly fire into the bunkers which are all on the right (players view). There are only 2 bunkers not 3. I understand the skill levels. I am a beta tester. I have to disagree about the last point. With 2.01 and the Redux campaign I am sure most people will get slaughtered (>25 WIA/KIA???) if they were to play this mission cold (no previous playthrough). Hard to prove unless we find someone who has not played it. That would just be one though. Kinda pointless to argue I guess. I will say that once you are off the beach then it is a rather simple cleanup.
  19. FINALLY! I just beat it on warrior. German surrender. I had 5 killed and 6 wounded on my team. I split all teams into assault and base of fire (BOF). I had all assaults and HQ's sneak up middle to just shy of river. All BOF sneak on right side about same. I also had MG's sneak on right side. At 10 minutes into battle I had preplanned arty strike along hedge while BOF and MG's quick up another 20 meters and start to shoot at bunkers. Assaulters and HQ's rush hedge during arty strike. Seemed to work well enough. Mop up after that. Got to say this only works because I know what is out there from previous plays. Going into this battle cold you get slaughtered. Thanks all for the tips.
  20. Well I tried again tonight and got slaughtered. I will rethink it and try in the morning. Starting to think "pic or it didnt happen". LOL
  21. Wow. Good job. I guess I will just try again. No matter how much lead I put into those bunkers I couldn't kill the guys inside. Bad luck I guess? Hehe bad luck 6 times I guess!
