  1. Okay Womble, you got him for being a bit overdramatic in his frustration. People do that. He has a good point and possibly a bug find in the case of the firefly. Maybe not, maybe so. I applaud him for bringing the case to light no matter the result.
  2. I don't see any problem with the guy just pointing out an obvious flaw in he spotting system no matter how many times the system is correct. If I never pointed out the machinegun problem it never would have been fixed! The firefly case is frustrating.
  3. Wow. Looks like the tanks are better off undefended!
  4. I just played "Here We Fight!" I just had my ass handed to me. They are all dead. They are all dead.
  5. They still have a "deploy" time but you don't have to hit a button for them to do it.
  6. Just an update on Aalst. Germans surrender. I was surprised as I still had half the map to go. I am kind of bummed because I had a hell of a plan coming together when they through in the towel. Score 700 to 22. Warrior mode. They had 75 men left and 1 tank. I had 420 men left. I lost 21 killed and 21 wounded. I lost 2 shermans and 1 staghound. Fun fun fun. I bet they gave up because I cleaned the right side of the map with all those 88's. If they still had those I bet it would of been hell getting off that map. Maybe a little protection for those flank guns in the remake? Cheers.
  7. Wow Paper Tiger. Just wow. SPOILERS I never got to test this in beta but I am neck deep into Aalst right now and I am having a great time. I did get lucky as I sent a squad to the right to work that flank and it has saved my bacon in this bloody slog mess. THE QUESTION: Are you going to rework this campaign under 3.0 so we can have triggers? Can you imagine?!?!?? You sir, are a master. You were even clever enough NOT to start the German FO's in the bell tower at the start but to have them climb up there later. I put several 75mm shells into it on turn 1 only to find them up there later not a scratch!
  8. You mean it made you feel frustrated and it turned your gut and made you mad at your upper command for not predicting the enemy forces correctly? Yeah this should be an easy enjoyable run like it was in real life..........wait a minute!
  9. I think the dance of death was different. In CMx1 the DoD was caused by being shot at and the AI not knowing what to do. I think this CMx2 problem is some sort of action square reset touch which causes the AI to double back for a few meters.
  10. Because every time a trooper gets hit with a bullet he gets a "saving throw" to simulate the bullet striking micro terrain that is not depicted but imagined.
  11. One of those Reds dropped a MG! Nice job Elvis. If you must take him piece by piece, so be it.
  12. I would pause for 30 seconds for a few more shots then back away. You got the drop on him and that is something you should milk a bit more in my opinion.
  13. LOL! That could be baaaaaaaaaaaad! I have got to grow up.
  14. Heating up indeed! F5 key wearing out. Hmmmm.....I wonder if that tree should be blown away from that 75mm high velocity round? What do you think?
  15. Well nobody can argue that it doesn't work for you Bill! Great read as always.
  16. I recall that Charles said that the target arc increases spotting ONLY in that it adjusts the spotter to directly face the area that has the arc. You spot best when you are directly facing the area you want to spot in. That is the only spotting benefit to arcs. Has this changed?
  17. Not sure what the actual range was but it didn't look too far being around those woods in the screenshot. I have to say if I saw an enemy tank absolutely covered with infantry and I had a SMG I think I would let loose a burst or two even if it was slightly out of "effective engagement range". The payoff could be huge.
  18. Well the tac AI will not area fire by itself so that is where the target briefly comes into play for me. I arc many of my troops to prevent long range waste of ammo but when I cancel the arc I will issue target commands to ensure the teams fire where I want them to.
  19. Remember Bill that the scream you heard after the nades went off COULD be an already wounded guy (red cross) getting killed. I have had that happen before.
  20. It would make it more clear if the light was BETWEEN the two units instead of next to a unit. Like this: PL HQ <RED/GREEN LIGHT> Co HQ This way you know the light is for comms between pl and co hq's
  21. I have reported this as a bug in the past but I will let them know again.
  22. At some point logic has to step in. The event would most likely happen maybe 1% of the time IRL. <----a guess but come on...buttoned tank fighting forward during combat sees a 2 man team 150 meters at their 7 o'clock? The problem is that too many people have had this happen to them in the game so maybe it is 50% of the time. Maybe 30%. Maybe 70% The point is it happens way more often in the game than IRL.
