  1. Hi Philippe Planes can't be launched during storms at sea or when it's raining or snowing. Bill
  2. Hi Furchtlosundtrew The main events that will bring Bulgaria into the war are these: If Belgrade falls, then Bulgaria will swing 10-20% towards the Central Powers, with a 35% chance every turn of a further 1-4%. If Nish falls, then Bulgaria will swing 5-15% towards the Central Powers. Add in some diplomacy, and they should enter the war sometime in 1915. But there is nothing definite about their war entry, and Entente actions could prevent them joining the war, especially if they take Gallipoli which will make them swing towards the Entente. Bill
  3. That's right, in Hotseat and PBEM the settings at the start of the game will remain the same throughout. Only in AI games can it be turned off, not that one should ordinarily of course!
  4. Hi TLee I'm not an expert on this campaign, but wonder if any scripts have been turned off? These can be found by going to Options -> Advanced -> Scripts. Any without an X against them on the right hand side are switched off. Bill
  5. Hi Philippe If you resize the original file to be the size of the zoom file, probably using the PIXEL resize setting rather than BICUBIC option then it should work. With a little experimentation hopefully you'll settle on the best method for your sprites, which may require a little cleaning up. Bill
  6. Hi Philippe For the main WWI campaigns like Call to Arms, the anchor symbol will work fine. Good idea. You are right that it is more problematical for the smaller campaigns, but fortunately a fair number of them use their own modified unit sprites. If they have their own sprites they will be in a Bitmaps folder within that campaign's own main folder. It might be easiest if you plan your changes for a specific campaign or set of campaigns, e.g. Call to Arms and Ostaufmarsch, as more work will be involved the more campaigns you try to mod the graphics for. Then you could see what is applicable for the other ones after those are done. Bill
  7. I'll be very interested to see how this goes, and it's great to see another of your AARs! I have to confess that I have beaten the Central Powers in a game where they adopted this very strategy, but in my opponent's defence it was his first time as Central Powers, so I did have a significant advantage there. I won't give away any of my secrets just yet, but there are things the Entente can do when Germany heads east. Bill
  8. Hi Philippe You're right, the Breakthrough expansion refers to the base WWI game's graphics for the most part. Each campaign can have its own graphics by placing them in that Campaign's Bitmap Folders, but if you are changing ones applicable to all campaigns then changing the relevant file within the base WWI game would be the best thing to do. Possibly keep the originals as back up just in case though. Bill
  9. Hi Noah Rail guns and rocket artillery are good at demoralizing targets (especially rocket artillery) and reducing the target's levels of entrenchment. Bombard with these before ground units attack. BBs and Cruisers can bombard ground targets, which has a small chance of causing a casualty among the defenders, and it will also cause some demoralization. Bill
  10. Hi Attila If installing them in the normal manner doesn't work, I'd suggest opening a ticket with the Battlefront support team, providing as much detail as possible, as hopefully they can help you: http://battlefront.mojohelpdesk.com/ Bill
  11. Hi Philippe Each vertical row of icons relates to one country, so you just need to amend those in one vertical row. Of the two you're looking at, the one on the left is Libya and the one on the right is Mesopotamia. Bill
  12. Looks like the Axis are in a much better position this time around!
  13. Hi Philippe The Senussi are effectively Libyan partisans, so they will use the activation symbols associated with Libya. In which case you may wish to change them to the Senussi colours. Effectively what happens in the game engine to Libya, Palestine, Syria and Arabia when the Italians and Ottomans respectively enter the war, is that these countries are surrendering. This allows the deployment of Partisan forces during the game, such as the Senussi and Arab Revolt. Bill
  14. Ah well, glad you got it sorted anyway and can get back into the fight!
  15. Hi Philippe Yes, Libya's flag will also turn Italian when they enter the war. I found it interesting in your thread on propaganda posters that the Austrian flag features prominently in some, while the Hungarian flag was notable by its absence. I remember when we were designing the game that we wanted to use a flag that would best represent both parts of Austria-Hungary, without having to represent them as separate countries.
  16. Hi Buford The passwords are case sensitive, so I would suggest trying all versions possible with and without capitals. Hopefully that might help fix it? Bill
  17. Thanks for this Philippe, I've made a note of it all for future use. Just a quick explanation on two of them, as Syria's and Palestine's flags will change to the Ottoman when the Ottoman Empire enters the war. It would be a bit tricky to change that as otherwise when liberated they would retain the Ottoman flag, which I think would feel worse. Bill
  18. Hi Colm If the USSR's mobilization value has dropped to zero then that would explain it. Could that be the case here? Bill
  19. I've just found this video online which will be a great start for new players of this game: One thing I'd like to add is that when playing as the Entente I always invest heavily in Diplomacy, providing the situation allows, as this can be a very good way of hitting Germany's morale and income without having to lose any men in the process.
  20. Hi Buford If you navigate to Assault on Democracy's folder in your installation, there should be a sub folder called Manuals. Within this there should be four files: 1939 World at War Decision Event Log 1943 Operation Brilliance Decision Event Log 1943 Operation Flatiron Decision Event Log Expansion Notes The first one is the one you want. Bill
  21. Hi Philippe SeaMonkey is right, you only need Global Conflict and then whichever of the expansions you choose.
