Can't activate Downfall module on macOS
BFCElvis replied to Redwolf's topic in CM2 General Tech Support
Both Charles and Steve are working with me to sort this out. It seems peple are seeing one of these 2 things: 1. Script won’t run at all 2. Script runs but there’s no screen confirming Activation and the game either launches without Downfall or fails to launch (bouncing icon in dock) Does that sound right? -
Can't activate Downfall module on macOS

We got a couple of Help Desk tickets today with sumfink like this and are working to figure out why. Right now we think it is a permissions issue. -
CM Final Blitzkrieg Tournament
BFCElvis replied to BFCElvis's topic in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
I've never been in the military but that's kind of exactly what I would expect to happen in the real world. RPG gets a kill and isn't postively spotted and all the fire power that has eyes on the suspected location open up on it? Sounds right to me. Mirrored matches are all that we peddle in. -
CM Final Blitzkrieg Tournament
BFCElvis replied to BFCElvis's topic in Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg
We can't remove any of the UI but we changed the set up areas and have all offboard arty now a reinforcement. So you can't get pummeled turn 1 arty. So, the changes we did make should help mitigate some of the issues. -
Combat Mission: Final Blitzkrieg Tournament The Tournament will begin February 5, 2024 and you can join now. This Tournament will feature 3 rounds with 3 different scenarios. Last Man Out- Remnants of 17th Armored Infantry Battalion attempt escape from Herrlisheim. Axis probe Trouble with Siegfried- Forward US elements meet the Westwall. Allied attack. Cutline to Grosshaw – Opposing infantry platoons clash during a fighting patrol into the Hurtgen Forrest. Meeting engagement Before joining the tournament, please take a moment and carefully read these instructions that are specific to all Combat Mission Tournaments!!! - Please DO NOT join the tournament unless you can commit to playing about 1 turn a day and playing the tournament through to it's completion. Not doing those will ruin someone else's tournament. - Because of the way that Combat Mission’s original “play by email” system works, both game files have an in-game field for password protection of the file. This field should be left blank. For the Allied side the password has been selected before the battles were sent and that field is to be left blank. You can use a password for the Axis side but it isn’t needed because the Tournament feature handles protection from cheating without using the in game system. - The Tournament will have you playing 2 individual battles where you are playing both sides of the same battle. If you get into the game before your opponent, you will see 1 game turn to play. If your opponent has gotten there first then you will see 2 turn files and each turn thereafter should have 2 files. - Once a tournament begins you will receive the files in the "Saved Game and PBEM"; drop menu under Automated PBEM++ In Progress. You will receive email notifications when your opponent has sent you turns. - When logging in you MUST use the email address associated with your Martix account - You will need a Matrix user name and password to play any tournament (or PBEM++ battle). If you don't have one already you can get one here: https://www.matrixgames.com/login Sign up now either through the game or here: https://www.matrixgames.com/tournaments

We're very excited to present the Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg module : Downfall. Check out it's webpages for all of the details about this huge module. Downfall As with other releases the content for Downfall is in a patch. Which means the v2.10 patch is also released. Use the Activate New Prodeucts utility and enter your Downfall license key to "unlock" it's content. In addition to the Downfall module, the patch introduces Slitherine's PBEM++ and Tournament features to Final Blitzkrieg. We really think everyone is going to love this new addition to the Combat Mission stable.

Very close. Very very close -
Are you sure? That is the file I used to get you the missing scenarios. I ran that installer then plucked out all scenarios out and sent them to you.

HT's answer is good. I use a free one called Bandizip. -
There is nothing to be resolved. A thread was locked. Intellectual property is probably the most sacred thing to us (and anyone that creates.....whether it's software or music or movies etc...). When there is even a hint that sumfink might not be right the red lights start flashing. I had a conversation with Frank a while ago about this and he told me he wasn't selling it. I believed him then and I believe him now. That said, the thread had things that could be confusing to people that haven't payed close attention to the project. The use of (certainly not trademarked) commonly used Battlefront phrases like "Pre-orders" and "Battle Pack", and then someone giving instructions on a step to send payment can cause confusion. It meant the thread needed to be locked down. If you want proof that there can be confusion you don't have to look any further than @slippy's linked post above. Yesterday I got both a Help Desk ticket and a "Reported Content" post notfication about it. That does not mean it can't be discussed. That doesn't mean that there can't be multiple threads talking about it. It doesn't mean it can't be hyped. There is nothing to be resolved because we haven't shut anything down but a thread. We love community made content. That's why we created such a powerful editor. We encourge it.

Flagging for Support - Need Help Restoring Old Account
BFCElvis replied to Genosse's topic in CM2 General Tech Support
Check your email. -
That would be an idea. But the better idea is to find out why they are showing as corrupted files, fix it and but the fixed version link in. Which is what has been done.
-
Open up a Help Desk ticket and I'll get you the scenarios.
-
WE always strong encourage user made content but it is 100% against the EULA to sell Battlefront content. HUGE no no. I am locking down this thread. If it is discovered that Mr X is selling this then further action will be taken. We'd had a conversation a few months ago and he assured me that wan't the case.

He's probably the one that matters most with the module. I believe he is the one that had final say over what did and didn't go into the module. -

It's funny that you should ask for that. There are 2 scenarios doing what you've asked for. The titles of the scenarios are: "DF Metal on Metal (Comet vs Panther)" "DF Metal on Metal (Pershing vs Tiger)" Kinda what you had in mind? We hadn't planned on doing an AAR. Maybe we should but I don't think there would be enough time to do it before the module is released. Rather than giving spoilers on one of these, we should wait until you get it in your hands. -

The UK campaign will be a sub-unit of the 15th (Scottish) Infantry Division, with supporting units ("Funnies"/armor) from XXX Corps present centered around Kleve/Cleve. The German campaign is titled The Bridge. The campaign centers around the defenders at Remagen Bridge, and the counter-attacks in the vicinity. The US campaign is titled Spearhead. Eight battles, spanning the fighting leading up to and including Cologne. It focuses on Task Force Lovelady/D Company, and attached infantry/engineers, artillery. @benpark is working at a deadline pace at this moment. Perhaps in a couple of days he'll have a moment to add sumfink. He's the lead on them. -
Well.....They actually opened last night. It was included in the Part 1 of this year's State of the Union Address. This module is huge. A lot of love went into this. Check out what it's got and what it looks like here: Combat Mission Final Blitzkrieg : Downfall Reminder: These are pre-orders. When the module is finished a new patch (v2.10) will be released on our Patches page. That patch will include any fixes since the last patch, the PBEM++ and Tournament systems and all of the content for Downfall. The license key in your pre-order can be used, once the patch is available, to "unlock" the module's content. You will also recieve an email letting you know that it has been released. Also, we've recieved a number of Help Desk tickets from people saying that they can't redeem their Final Blitzkrieg license keys for Steam keys on the Slitherine/Matrix sites. That is because the game is not yet available on Steam. Once it is you'll be able to redeem your Battlefront key for Steam keys at no charge.

Unable to download games after new year?
BFCElvis replied to Magnum50's topic in CM2 General Tech Support
Try using a different browser. Also, sometimes firewall and antivirus software can slow things down. Disabling them during downloads may help.
