  1. Sorry guys, no stream today. I just got back from a trip to GDC, and I've got a weekend's worth of work waiting for me in the morning. I just don't have the time to spare. Next week we'll continue!

This breaks my heart. And not only because you will not be online. But because it makes it sound as if CMRT will not be out next week either! :(

  2. Except once

I have to mention back when playing CMX1,

I had this fellow pull off a perfect Blitzkrieg move on me.

My right flank was defended by engineering and infantry units placed in the backside of some light woods with armor reserves in my middle area that could give them support fire if needed.

I felt good about holding off any armor or infantry attack there.

Then all at once this fellow sends two armor platoons followed closely by two infantry platoons in HT’s at full speed across a stretch of open ground into them woods, tanks firing smoke as they approached.

It turned into hell on earth in moments, the tanks were suppressing much of my infantry with point blank fire and then I watch as German HT’s rolled up and troops debarked to finish off the job their task force had started. It was over so quickly my supporting armor could not get in place and aid much before it was done.

It was really a memorable moment and was a joy to watch except for the fact I was on the receiving end, not the person that had achieved it.

    Were his initials B.H.? :)

  3. Ah. Never mind. I finally saw Stevens44 thread and Hubert's reply.

    Hi Stevens44,

For not having hexes this was just a design decision from many years ago but our first game used hexes and we will be moving back to hexes in the future.

There is some thought to putting SC games on the Mac and for iPads but nothing official at the moment.

    Hope this helps,

    Hubert

  4. I've always thought soldiers were too ready to conceal themselves in wheat fields or tall grass by going prone. Even before the lead starts to fly at the beginning of a scenario, they go prone. It is damn near impossible to spot anything unless the squad leader or HQ are present. Sometimes I too wish soldiers would go from prone to kneel when in these conditions if for anything for over watch when infantry are leapfrogging to an objective and help spot.

  5. This series is actually pretty good. I enjoyed watching all 18 episodes. I've watched the Bagration episode a couple of times since CMRT covers it (but not too much detail). The narrator kept say operation "Bah-grAh-tee-un". Now the geek in me needs to know the proper pronunciation. "Bah-grAh-tee-un" or "Bah-gray-shun"?

Edit: after reading the above post, I'm guessing Bah-grAh-tee-un.
