1. With all this talk about light armor and such, does this mean we will see 75mm guns again?

Just curious thanks -tom w

Its not easy.
 4. For all of you out there who make the mods, scenarios, operations, add-ons and whatever, that make this game more enjoyable, for all of you who have the time, talent and patience to do all of these things (because I sure as hell dont), I just want to say, I LOVE YOU MAN!!!!!
quote:
Party on Wayne! 5. I have not made myself clear. I recall many instances where my tank, be it Axis or Ally, was under 200 meters had a perfectly clear view, no obstructions, no tree branches, no smoke, nothing but air, just made contact, straight shot down a road or open field, no mistaking where the target is. The tank stops, turns, lines up, fires and the shot would either go wide right or wide left by a good 25 meters or more. . Does this sound familiar to anyone? I am being serious here. I dont mean to sound sarcastic. I can understand maybe over shooting or under shooting by a few meters, if any, but wide right or left? Again, I must bring up what I stated in my first posting, if a gun can send a shell flying 750 meters a second, does it not take less than a second for a round to go 100, 200, or even 300 meters. Would that not be a near flat trajectory? Are tank sights not bore sighted to the barrel? Where you point your sight that is where the muzzle of the barrel is pointing, right? If I am wrong correct me. I know the gunners of the M1's employ what is called "battle sight". That is the distance the shell will fly before it starts to arc.(for the sabot round it is about 1500 meters) I would imagine ww2 tanks have a battle sight range for their guns and that range would be at least 200 meters. At least. I would imagine it would be rather simple to square your sights on a target 200 meters away, get a good bead on him, even if the crew is green, and get at least a glancing blow on your target. I dont mean to say that there is anything wrong with the physics model of this game. I am sure it is one of the most accurate. But maybe there is something wrong with the AI or maybe too much emphasis has been put on letting numerous variables that are "out there" have too much of an effect on certain aspects of the game, i.e. shooting. I am a Gunnersmate in the navy, have been through gunnery school and I am now a mount captain on a 25mm gun on the ship I am on. I understand the principles of gunnery and the physics of flight. I understand the fog of war and you can never be certain of anything in battle and that a good commander knows that his plan will not last once it makes contact with the enemy and I understand and have read all if not then most of the philosophies of battle. I love this game and cant get enough of it. I cant wait for the next one. Again I dont mean to insult the creators and their creation. I think this game is ingenious. Is that enough brown nosing? Well anyway I just think there is something to what I am saying and believe it strongly. I think too many are blowing off this concern. I have heard others voice it but maybe not in the same way.
quote:
Improvise, adapt, overcome. GSgt. Highway Heartbreakridge

 6. Glad to hear other AIM users out there. My screen name is Captmattgunner. I am mostly able to play on weekends. LETS GET IT ON!
quote:
Crush the enemy, see him driven before you and here the lamentations of the women. Conan the Barbarian

 7. Dont get me wrong, I love the game. I dont know whether the models are innacurate. All I know is it seems way too many shots are being taken at distances where it doesnt seem necessary, such as at a few hundred meters or less especially under 200 meters. I dont mean to insult your creation, guys. I just feel strongly about what I see.
quote:
Crush the enemy, see him driven before you, hear the lamentations of the women

 8. What I am refering to, though, is that fact that it seems tanks can be right next to one another and fire and miss completely after having plenty of time to aim while not even moving. This seems to happen at close as well as medium range engagements. I am not so concerned with long range engagements.
 9. I am often frustrated with misses at ranges under 500 meters and even under 200 meters when tanks shoot. Especialy the Tiger with its 88. I can see missing once or twice around the 500 meter range but anything less should be a sure thing I would think. When you read the muzzle velocities of the guns on the tanks they read anywhere from 600+mps. That means it takes one second for the round to go 600 meters. Now when you are under that range the trajectory is nearly flat, is it not? How in the hell could a tank miss off to the right or left!? I can see over shooting or under shooting, slightly. I am frustrated when a tank of mine shoots at another from 300 meters away and misses by at least 50 meters left or right. Or it takes the tank 5 shots to finaly get a shot in. I understand about bracketing and all that. But I thought that was necessary at longer ranges. But all this missing going on is a bunch of horse dung! I have read other postings talking about being in the heat of battle and many variables affect the gunners ability to shoot, such as being shot at and the tank moving and the pucker factor and such. That all makes sense. But what about when the tank is standing still and the tank has an elite crew and not being shot? I have played some tank sim games in the past like M1 Tank Platoon and Panzer Elite and they seem to have modeled their ballistics well. I know I am not in the same position as the gunner in the real world, but it was never hard for me to shoot other tanks at ranges 500 meters or less in my games, sitting still. I know you guys at battlefront like accuracy, as far as history and battle is concerned. I think there are legitmate concerns here.
 10. Where can I find this gunslinger mod I here so much about? I cant find it. I did a search and still cant find it. Someone please help this CM hungry soul. Mods! Must have mods! My kingdom for mods! ------------------
 11. I like your quote. I about died laughing when I read that. Is that yours or did you get that from somewhere. If it is yours, that was clever.
 12.
quote:
Originally posted by Daveman: The early T-34s had a 76mm gun, but late war (43-44?) T-34s had a larger turret to accomodate an 85mm gun. Better, but the 76mm turret was really slick.

 13. It would be nice if the tank turrets stayed in the general direction of the action instead of going back to forward after engaging a target or after a contact goes out of line of site.
 14. Beach landings. You never see beach landings. The only game I have seen beach landings was in the steele panthers game. Anybody remember that one?
