  1. What do you. Mean with "key"? Do you mean your license key? You can look up your license key at any time for a downloadable game in your online account at www.battlefront.com/store. After logging in, click on "My Account" from the top menu. If you forgot your login, go to www.battlefront.com/lostpw. Enter the email you registered with and you will get an email with a new password and your username (called User Account) in the email.
  2. The problem isn't one of budget. A dedicated marketing person still couldn't give you any more info than is available.
  3. It's simple, really... the time when we are the busiest is the time when no one is available to take care of you children Incidentally, we're the busiest right before something new and big is coming up. Part of this is due to the fact that we don't have a marketing department to keep you entertained while everyone else is busy actually making games. We went independent to get rid of the marketing suits after all. Another part of it is also the way we make games. Most game developers do fancy artwork first (for the marketing department that needs to sell the title to retailers). We do them last. This keeps the head free for the important stuff, like, making a good game and stuff. So we don't really have much to show usually until sometime late into beta. And the last piece of the puzzle is that showing you stuff is quite a distraction for the entire team. Especially when the news require explanation, answering of questions etc. To quote Steve: "Patience grasshoppers" Martin
  4. This forum has a Buddy List, which allows you to see if friends are online. It's not real-time chat, but allows you to exchange PM's with people in your Buddy List. Look at the main menu bar under QuickLinks, then click on Open BuddyList.
  5. The helpdesk and the main site share logins. You can register an account here: https://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_registration&task=register&Itemid=35 ...unless you already have one (which you do if you purchased directly from us at some point since Oct 2007). All of this is explained in detail in the Knowledgebase, by the way: http://www.battlefront.com/helpdesk/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=156&nav=0
  6. Make sure that you put the module exe files into the right place, i.e. inside the modules folders (not in the game root).
  7. Most av programs store files in some sort of quarantine area , so you should be able to recover them. Contact the support of your av of choice if you need help with how it's done.
  8. BTW, we've seen perhaps two or three cases with "no sound" so far, and all of them have been resolved by the user un-muting his iPad and adjusting the sound, then restarting the app. The mute and the sound adjustment buttons are different buttons on the iPad.
  9. DaKiwiMike, you can create an account on the right hand side of the page. You can also look up the Knowledgebase which explains how to log in to see your ticket(s). Reply notifications can be blocked by your anti-spam filters. Make sure to whitelist battlefront.com in your email program.
  10. Oh wait, I just noticed that you are saying that you are executin the module exe? You can't do that. Only launch from the main exe. This could explain your error as well.
  11. This is a good example of how bad antivirus software can ruin your day. msvcr71.dll is a Windows native library, a copy of which should reside inside your game folder. This library is of course perfectly safe. Check your AV program for quarantined files.
  12. Some anti-virus programs are confused by the eLicense protected exe files because of the encryption that they use. If you allow your AV to "guess" and flag "unknown" files (called "heuristic" scanning), then they may trigger a false positive. Heuristic scanning can be useful, but if you do enable it, then you should consider telling your AV to not automatically remove such files, but instead to prompt you for action. If you know the files are ok, then you can tell it to ignore or set an permanent exception and save yourself some trouble. I just wish that the documentation coming with many AV programs was better and functions more transparent (or their defaults make more sense). Martin
  13. For eLicense protected games, you are limited to 2 concurrent activations per game. I.e. you can have it running on 2 PCs at the same time. You CAN install on a third, but in order to play, you have to UNLICENSE one of the other 2 first. Some people who travel a lot have the game installed on 3 (or more), and simply unlicense and relicense as needed, so they always have 2 games active where they are. Other people simply buy another license. We offer some discounts for that. For games using our new Online Activation System, this does not apply, however. And while you do get 4 initial activations, no questions asked, the same End User License Agreement still applies, and you are really only allowed 2 concurrent activations, as well. The other 2 are "overflow" activations for when you change PCs. To make a long story short: it's not possible to get a "free" third activation for CMSF games, sorry. But you can buy an extra copy at a discount. Go to www.battlefront.com/helpdesk and click on Submit Ticket if you are interested. Martin
  14. No need to install everything. Just follow the instructions from our Knowledgebase: http://www.battlefront.com/helpdesk/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=182&nav=0,10,4 And http://www.battlefront.com/helpdesk/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=181&nav=0,10,4
  15. Usually not more an 24hours. Did you already login to the helpdesk and see if you have a response waiting? Email notifications can be spam-blocked.
  16. Sounds like something else may be going on... Drivers or hardware. Did you already submit a ticket at www.battlefront.com/helpdesk? Please do so.
  17. Do you have modules? If so, you need to add the eye files from the modules folder, too. Yeah, DEP is buggy on some motherboards and sometimes you need to set it more than once for some reasons... Btw, instead of adding the exe files, you could also try setting DEP to not bother non-Windows stuff, too, probably... Then you shouldn't have to add exceptions at all.
  18. Run service only runs when you launch the game. It sounds like some security software is preventing it from running. I suspect either anti-virus software or your DEP settings. Please go to www.battlefront.com/helpdesk and click on "Submit ticket"
  19. Or you could blame the players who are in general way more willing to risk a tank than the people sitting inside it would be in real life.
  20. It's in the works. Support for iPhone, too.
  21. Downloads expire after 365 days, license keys never expire.
  22. No worries, Chris, we 're just getting started
  23. There is a guide for how to use mods. You should find it in your documents folder after installing the latest patches, I think. In short, create a Z folder inside your Data folder inside the game directory.
  24. Shifting a defensive line is one of the most difficult tactical maneuvers anyone can execute. It's too difficult for most human players to execute. I don't think the AI will be very good at this for a long time to come, to be honest, triggers, plans and what not. The key to shifting your defense successfully is to do it so the enemy doesn't know that you are doing it. Which means that usually most players do it way too late in a typical scenario. It also means that in order to execute it successfully, you have to read the situation correctly, prepare suppression and smoke where needed, move troops at the right time etc. This is too difficult for the AI to do on its own, but not much easier to "code" via AI plans for the scenario designer, even with triggers.
