  1. Another view is to flip this around and ask why wouldn't they have been working on the patch this whole time? It's been 2 years and 3 months now since they broke some pretty fundamental parts of their own game -- broken to the point that many people can barely enjoy the typical stock scenario. And not just one title broken, but all of them. When the issues with v4 were first brought to light, I would have never believed that it'd still be almost literally years before we saw them fixed.   3. MINUTE 16 This turn was exciting. To avoid losing my halftrack, I have ordered it to advance a little while I am sending my tank into a search and destroy mission against this armored car. The armored car is indeed trying to destroy some of my men near the halftrack. But, the cavalry arrives... And the unthinkable happens. The Stug III is spotted surely also looking after the halftrack. Meanwhile, one of my squad in the woods on my right wing is firing with a bazooka against the armored car. I think that is what we call a near miss. 😕

  5. Okay, I think I figured why it was changing AKM's. You need to delete ak-74.bmp. This is actually the texture for the AKM.... The only issue left now is that the M16 swap messes up the tubular stock of the other AK's but that's a minor issue, barely noticeable. There are perhaps other small fixes needed but this is going to help a lot. I wasn't even going to do any weapon swapping if I had to do this alone. But this looks much better. Maybe I'll do an early and a late ANA version. The early one with only woodland camo and AK's. And the late version with M16's and a mix of woodla

  6. What the hell is 'snak'? I understand that English is a living language which means that it continues to evolve, but I am far from convinced that its evolution should be in the hands of idiots. Not that I mean to say that BG is an idiot; in most things he has been reasonably sensible. But whoever was responsible for this particular barbarism should be locked up without access to the internet and fed only bread and water until he or she has come face to face with the error of his or her ways.   8. Arty I could live without but in the game I was playing troops jumped out of a trench when being fired on by machine guns - and they were not broken or panicking. Machine guns in general is something that is hard to play a CM game without.

  9. When they are ready, they will be out is the usual way to look at things. I hate waiting as much or more than the next guy. It has gotten easier as I have grown older but I still hate it. I drive way too many extra kms on backroads and through small towns to avoid waiting in traffic jams. I'll waste an afternoon driving to pick up something myself rather than wait the three or four days it would take the store to ship it to me. I would rather do almost anything than have to wait. So instead of waiting for the patch to come out and not play the game, I play the game. Find an opponent

  12. maybe a good time for revival with the ani mods currently beeing tested in H2H. Final evaluations are to follow in next weeks coming I think. To something different: another animation sequence I personally find somewhat...errm....too sportingly.. is the "jump" (fences, walls, trenches) animation sequence. Considering usual combat loads and such I could imagine something more appropiate maybe. I´m just about testing the "hunt level short" sequence as substitute for "jump" and while also not that perfect I find it somewhat more convincing. What do you think? Before I upload anythi

  16. I be pretty concerned if they had been working on the patch all that time, over 2 years and you really think they been working on it all that time. They been working on things and you know what they are, They gave us CMSF2, with said patch (Why , because that is where they decided to put their focus, why. Because another group of people have been asking for that for many years now also. ) Someone wins, someone loses. So if you play that, you see what will be coming when they get it finished. MINUTE 15 The halftrack starts an area fire on the suspected enemy position. 🤗 It reveals that some people are fleeing. 🎅 The German on my right wing are too far away to provide any kind of support. The 10,5cm round of the turn... No casualty this time. I really think this is one harass mission. And a little surprise, a recon armored car is showing up. And it looks like it is after my halftrack... 😨 Strangely enough, I am observing more suppressive fire than expected and I realize my tank is also after something.

    Minefield Mayhem....

    I’m not an explosives expert so if someone is more knowledgeable behind the physics wants to chime in please do, but my understanding is because the mines are placed on the pavement, the explosion just scatters them around and clutters the area with debris making the mines harder to spot. The resulting state of the road is less of a tactical issue 😄

"At this point, I would challenge anyone who is impatiently waiting like me to make a 1.5 km x 1.5 km quick battle map based on the area surrounding your mother-in-law's house, take large quantities of off map arty and blast it to pieces."

  21. This is a bit ironic since we're waiting for a patch to fix problems introduced in a patch... There's a middle ground between not testing things at all and then on the other hand testing things for more than two years. Also, nobody is demanding they release a flawed patch. But maybe releasing the patch that's has been done for a while and already is in CMSF2 would be nice.

  22. On rare occasions, tankers have seen a main gun projectile coming right at their tank, in the form of a rapidly growing dot. Fairly sure it was in Crisp's Brazen Chariots, and I believe I've seen at least one other such mention. Have a friend who did two tours in the Marines in Iraq and was manning a guard tower. Said he saw a mortar round come right through the camouflage net and past his face, with the munition apparently landing in a ravine or something so that he wasn't hit directly or indirectly when it blew up.   23. MINUTE 14 Crossing the road again to reach the house on the left of the screen. This time I am using a Fast command. And, suddenly, one 10,5cm shell drops. Three casualties but the one in the red circle is a little hard to believe. I have replayed the sequence but this is indeed the shrapnel. 😕 In the wood on my left wing, my men are watching while my halftrack is arriving. Hope it will surprise a little the Germans next turn.

BletchleyGeek, Great vid, and it illustrates some of the points I made in another post regarding projectiles deflecting, prematurely detonating, etc. SlowMotion (but really for those who've only ever known CMx2), BTS had tanks continuing to move after killed but not K-Killed way back in CMBO. It was one of those things which sold me on the game when it was only in Beta Demo. My StuG III acquired, tracked, fired upon (gun recoiled) and nailed a crossing Sherman. It rolled I forget how many tank lengths before stopping. All this was on a screen model smaller than Micro Armour™!

Yes is is true that I might have missed the point a bit since yes english is indeed not my native language and also because every time there is a talk on the forum about infantry engineers breaching minefields, wich you definitely can not do in CM games, since marking is not breaching in sense of clearing a mineless lane through the damn thing, there is immediately somebody popping up with the "Its not in scope of CM something something.." like literally every freaking time.
